The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association was chartered 28 years ago as an extension of the Penn State Alumni Association. The primary mission of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chapter is to provide financial aid in the form of scholarships to area students attending Penn State. Since our inception in 1981, our chapter has grown to over 500 active members, has awarded close to $100,000 in scholarship monies to incoming freshmen attending the Pennsylvania State University and started and maintained an Endowed Scholarship fund to provide financial aid to upperclassmen already enrolled at Penn State.

Our signature fundraising event is our annual Pig Roast attended by our annual scholarship recipients, the Nittany Lion, The entire Penn State Cheerleading Squad, the Executive Director of the Penn State Alumni Association and hundreds of Penn State Alumni, supporters and fans. Our chapter has been awarded several University sponsored Alumni Association awards. The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chapter received the 2006 Penn State Alumni Association Networking and Fellowship achievement award for an outstanding fellowship or networking program or event. Our chapter also attained Chapter of Distinction status again in 2006.

The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chapter is constantly striving to uphold and maintain the principles set forth by the Penn State Alumni Association. We welcome anyone interested in becoming part of the great tradition of the Pennsylvania State University to join our Alumni Chapter.
